Villa defender Swinkels pens new deal

Sil Swinkels has signed a new deal with Aston Villa.

The Dutch defender has been a regular with Villa's U21s this season.

Villa academy chief Mark Harrison told the club's website: We are delighted to see Sil sign his new contract.

He has shown a lot of resilience to bounce back from his injury and since doing so has shown a lot of potential and maturity in his performances.

He has an outstanding attitude and thoroughly deserves this new contract. We look forward to seeing how he develops over the coming seasons."
