23-year-old winger with 19 goal contributions ‘followed’ by Tottenham, would cost over €20m

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Galatasaray winger Baris Alper Yilmaz.

According to a report from Turkish publication Milliyet, Spurs have ‘followed’ the 23-year-old winger and it will be interesting to see if they decide to make a move for him at the end of the season.

Yilmaz is valued in excess of €20 million and Spurs certainly have the financial muscle to get the deal done. They will need to add more cutting edge in the final third and signing a goal-scoring winger could prove to be a wise decision.

The Turkish winger has seven goals and 12 assists in all competitions and he will add more quality to the Spurs attack. Although he is naturally a right-sided winger, he is versatile enough to operate on both flanks.

The talented young winger is likely to improve with coaching and experience. Regular football in the Premier League could accelerate his development and the €20 million deal could look like a bargain in the long term.

Tottenham are not the only Premier League club keen on signing the Turkish winger and they will face competition from Aston Villa and West Ham United. All three English clubs could prove to be exciting destinations for the young attacker and it will be interesting to see where he ends up.

Tottenham must improve their attacking unit during the summer transfer window if they are serious about pushing for trophies next season. They will be desperate to get back into the UEFA Champions League as well.

A move to the Premier League will be a major step up in the winger’s career and he will hope that the interested clubs can secure an agreement with Galatasaray in the coming weeks.
