Watch: Shohei Ohtani's 450-foot home run is hardest-hit ball of 2024

Shohei Ohtani is already proving to be a wise investment for the Los Angeles Dodgers and is obliterating the baseball this season. He continued that on Tuesday night in the Dodgers' 4-1 win over the Washington Nationals by hitting his sixth home run of the season.

It was also his most impressive home run of the year, as it was a 450-foot rocket that was also the hardest-hit baseball of the 2024 season to date.

It was clocked at 119 mph off the bat, and it looked every bit of that when watching it.

That is a tape-measure distance, and what makes it so impressive is that it was not really a majestic fly ball that towered over the stadium. That was a line drive that left the field in the blink of an eye. With that home run, Ohtani is hitting .364 for the season with a 1.107 OPS. He was already one of the best hitters in baseball before this season and has been even better than he normally is through the first month.
